Every student deserves an education that leads to opportunity.

From high school to the PhD, from the classroom to the workforce — I build the programs, platforms, and pathways that make that true.

I'm Dr. Jasmin M. Goodman, and for over 14 years I've worked inside nearly every stage of that pipeline — as a professor, a researcher, a program builder, and now as a nonprofit academic leader helping design what comes after the classroom.

Where it starts

My work begins long before college. The Ultimate Guide to High School Advising Curriculum — a program I built with K-12 teachers and advisors across Southeast Georgia to help students create a real plan for life after high school — became the seed for what's now Vantage IQ, the AI-powered skills navigator I co-founded to bring that same personalized planning to students at scale.

Making room to belong

Access isn't enough if students can't see themselves as scholars once they're in the room. That belief led me to found The Ratchet Scholar® during my doctoral studies — a community and platform that challenges what a scholar is supposed to look like, and makes space for Black and brown students to show up fully.

Mapping what comes after the degree

Even the most credentialed path doesn't guarantee opportunity — someone still has to map it. That's the premise behind Office Hours: Career Pathways for PhDs, the podcast I co-created with Dr. Maryann Kwakwa to profile the real, non-linear careers available to people with doctorates. We're not "pro-academia" or "pro-industry." We're pro-you.

Investing in the educators who deliver it all

None of this works without the educators doing the teaching. Through The Adjunct Academy, I support contingent faculty — the backbone of higher ed instruction — with the tools, community, and pedagogical guidance they need to thrive, not just survive, in the classroom.

Building the pipeline at scale

Today, I lead this work at an institutional level as Senior Director of Academic Programming at Trilith Institute, where I build the academic strategy and university partnerships connecting students to careers in film, television, and media — a working example of education built to lead directly into industry. I also remain in the classroom as an adjunct professor of Mass Media Arts at Clark Atlanta University, and I lead qualitative research for organizations in education, public health, and workforce development as Principal Researcher with The J. Michelle Group.

Beyond the work

I'm based in metro Atlanta, and am a former advocate for children in the foster care system — another place where I believe every young person deserves a real path forward, not just a placeholder. In 2025, I was named a Truist Foundation Fellow, and I continue to build Vantage IQ, the platform that grew directly out of that first high school advising program.

Every project on this site is a different rung of the same ladder. I'm just here to make sure it's actually connected.
